Just when she was beginning to think there was no suitable replacement for her leaky leaded windows, our slimframe aluminium windows were brought to Mrs Geall’s attention.
If you saw a photograph of Mrs Geall’s home in the 1930’s, ahead of us modernising it, you will have seen that its appearance hadn’t really altered since. In the last few years, her leaded windows had become a major problem, being hard and expensive to maintain and the root cause of the draughts that would so often occupy the space. She was desperate to replace them but wasn’t sure if that would be easy because of them being mullioned.
It was a slim window profile that she needed, particularly as she also wanted the interior to keep receiving enough natural light, and we had just the answer in our range – Eclipse Aluminium windows. They are some of the slimmest windows on the market, prioritising glass over frame to give the sun a large footprint to pass through. Aluminium is also very low maintenance, needing only minimal cleaning.
One of Mrs Geall’s favourite hobbies is watercolouring, which saw another request come in from her – could we turn her extension into a painting studio? Of course, we could! We had to improve the standard of insulation offered by the extension, doing so with the application of a tiled roof to the structure.
To Mrs Geall’s great relief, there are no more leaks in her house, and it now feels a lot quieter inside following the new window installation. She also doesn’t have to worry about opening and closing her windows, like she used to, fearing that they might fall out. The change of windows has benefitted her finances too, with her energy bills now a lot less expensive.
