When you decide to extend your home, with an orangery, or any other form of extension, the key thing is ensuring it marries into the building successfully. We accomplished that when installing this orangery, which you would have difficulty telling isn’t a part of the original building. The Golden Oak finish has undoubtedly been partly responsible for that as it has given the orangery a wood-like appearance in the framework of the windows and doors. The choice of brickwork was even more critical though and perfectly complements the current brickwork of the house itself.

With such a beautiful out the back, it was a no-brainer to include French doors in the orangery so that a quick escape can be made outside when the urge to do so is too great. They have luxurious side panels that help to drive natural light into the very heart of the extension. Directly opposite the French doors is their equal – another set of French doors for exiting the extension and heading back into the traditional living space. The presence of an internal pelmet was useful as it allowed us to fit spotlights, which get immediately switched on when the sun starts to go down at night. That same unmistakable Golden Oak colour has also been incorporated into the guttering, piping and decorative peak.
