The Morley Family
Glass Roof Orangery With Patio Doors
Introducing open-plan living with the addition of a fabulous extension.
The Morleys feel far less cramped for space at home after we fitted a glass roof orangery and love nothing more than to take it easy within the setting.
Only a short time after buying their three-bedroom, semi-detached house, the Morleys welcomed their first child into the world. They knew they would need more space to give their new-born plenty of room to play in, but they couldn’t face moving again, especially as they had really grown to love the house. Thankfully, they had some scope to extend, and were inclined to do that as they knew it would bring their home and garden closer together.
Once they had visited our showroom and seen some of our extensions, it confirmed to them that extending was the route to take. One extension drew their attention, which included an open-plan kitchen diner, as it would provide them with a location for cooking and dining in, as well as be somewhere they could keep their baby boy entertained. Our design team created a very similar design.

It was done via our 3D software so that the Morleys could see an accurate impression of what the orangery would look like, inside, and out. This technology was a revelation to them and almost made them feel as though they were stepping inside the space. Although we had to apply for Building Regulations Approval prior to the build, the orangery was constructed just six weeks after the Morleys had given the design their blessing.

Friends of the Morleys, and other members of their family, regularly say how much the orangery has the solid feel of a traditional extension. For one of the finishing touches, we added sliding patio doors to the orangery, giving them, and their son, a garden escape on those warm, sunny days. The weather outside though can’t get past the solar control glass in the roof, which always holds it off.
